Use datetime hierarchy in state conditions
When setting up metric set states on a measure, you can add state conditions that compare against a datetime hierarchy value. This also works with implicit datetime hierarchies and OLAP date-mapped hierarchies.
For example, you can define a state that selects all OrderQty values between a range of dates.
Create a new metric set with two measures (OrderQty and LineTotal) and a row hierarchy (OrderDate).
Go to the toolbar and click Set Up States.
In the Set Up States dialog, click Add a state group. Select the OrderQty measure and enter a name for the state group. Then click Submit.
Returning to the Set Up States dialog, you'll see the state group has been added.
Click the Add button under the listed state group to add a new state.
In the Configure State dialog, give the state a name and then click Add condition.
Set the comparison operator to Greater Than or Equal To.
Click Select a target and choose the OrderDate hierarchy.
Click the Unknown box and select 2006 as the OrderDate hierarchy value to compare against.
Add a second condition with operator Less Than or Equal To and set the OrderDate hierarchy value to 2007.
View the metric set visualization to see the OrderQty cells highlighted where the OrderDate is between 2006 and 2007 inclusive.
