August 18, 2009 (Boise, Idaho) - Cougar Mountain Software (CMS) today announced its recent collaboration with Dundas Data Visualization has resulted in the delivery of a sophisticated financial dashboard.
CMS - a developer of accounting, nonprofit accounting and point-of-sale software solutions - responded to customer requests for accessing financial data in real time by soliciting the expertise of Dundas Data Visualization's consulting team. The result was "Cougar Dtails," a financial dashboard product for their general ledger application.
"Dundas went above and beyond our agreement requirements to help Cougar Mountain Software make a great new product," said Brian Jennings, CMS Director of Product Management. "They exceeded our expectations and we are very excited about this new release.“
CMS began their research by looking at dashboard technology and the tools needed for connecting data between the general ledger and an outside source. They quickly discovered that Dundas Data Visualization, a developer of advanced data visualization solutions, offered all of the tools and controls needed for Cougar's financial dashboard. With the combined strength and expertise of the two companies, Cougar Dtails was designed and built to work integrally with CMS’s next product upgrade release, CMS Professional 2010.

CMS reports the dashboard is an effective tool and time saver when it comes to finding errors because it visually calls attention to inaccuracies; it is also user-friendly enough that non-accountant users are able to navigate through its functions and screens easily. With this first dashboard release and Dundas's technology training, CMS now has the ability to build additional module dashboards.
