Position: Technical Evangelist

Position and Duties

This position requires a versatile mind with the ability to listen and talk to potential clients and the general public with confidence, on the phone, via email, social networks and in person with a view to overcoming specific and systemic problems. The long term knock-on effect desired from all of this is promoting the Dundas brand, tools and expertise. Responsibilites include:

Monitoring and Measurement

  • Monitoring brand activity on social networking and bookmarking sites such as Twitter, Facebook and Digg 
  • Driving  traffic from social media efforts
  • Monitoring trends

User Engagement

  • Engaging with clients and the dashboard community daily basis via online communities, the phone and in person
  • Developing campaigns for Facebook and Twitter to help build brand awareness
  • Identifying and build relationships in the blogosphere
  • Becoming a champion for Dundas in the social media space, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate

Operational

  • Managing Facebook and Twitter accounts
  • Educating colleagues on Social Media
  • Updating and managing Twitter and Facebook profiles and other relevant social networking sites
  • Managing Dundas's RSS feeds

Creating and Managing Content

  • Creating content and syndicating it across selected networks
  • Writing, proofing and compiling content for dissemination both online and offline

Skills/Requirements/Experience

  • Experience with blogging tools and techniques
  • Familiarity with web measurement tools like Google Analytics
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Understanding and interest in using the social media outlets for B2B and B2C interaction
  • 2 years+ Object Oriented Programming experience
  • Some software design experience, including UI and usability
Other
  • Must be willing to learn new skills on a regular basis, both on and off the job
  • Must be able to work well within a team, yet be able to work autonomously
  • Must be able to work in a company with an open and casual work environment (able to self-manage)
  • Must have good attention to detail
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada

Compensation

Dundas offers a compensation plan that is well above the industry standard. This has allowed us to find and retain technical staff that is second to none. Compensation is made up of several parts with two main components, base and bonus. We provide highly competitive base salaries, plus we have an aggressive profit sharing program. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes extended health, dental, drug, health club, disability, and more.

Base salary is based on productivity, quality, experience, and initiative.
